I was born the son of a locksmith with a sixth grade education & a teenage mother. I never lived at the same street address for a calendar year until I was 8 years old. I witnessed firsthand the devastation of systemic racial oppression.

Then, at 15, I read Malcolm X's autobiography in a single night. His words revealed how someone who walked through the same shadows could emerge with clarity, purpose, and transformative power. In Malcolm's journey, I discovered the roadmap to my own liberation.

Over two decades as a public intellectual, artist, and activist, I’ve dedicated myself to putting scholarship in service of the people. My work includes organizing teach-ins, developing educational initiatives, and building movements that challenge imperialism, militarism, and ethnic cleansing.

I partner with communities nationally & globally to cultivate sustainable, just, and peaceful futures grounded in African, Indigenous, Abrahamic, and alternative wisdom traditions.
